COURRĒGES x EASTPAK
You know EASTPAK is all about authenticity and mobility.
Which is why the French-based label Courrèges
was the perfect match for a slightly different kind of designer collaboration.
The collection is very much inspired by a
freedom of expression and a freedom of movement.
Single-strapped backpacks, Plexiglas buckles, raw leather or brightly colored fabrics:
the backpacks bring together new forms, materials and colors,
with signature details that offer total freedom of movement.
The Plister, in that sense, is a reference to the origins of the collaboration.
This large travel bag in canvas and leather was built to carry
the “Mini Cruiser DIVA” skateboard and in that sense,
embodies the spirit of the first contact between Eastpak and Courrèges.
Courrèges was founded by André Courrèges in 1961, the Courrèges House
revolutionized the couture and design worlds.
While haute couture is favoring close-fitting garments,
Courrèges frees women from any fashion restriction.
He offers them little white leather boots and shorter dresses, and triumphs with his mini-skirt.
His structured garments favored clean lines made for bodies in motion
along with an awakening society.
Movement, purity, color, light:
Courrèges is asserting is eminently optimistic and lively style.
