HONET a.k.a HNT, graffiti artist since 1988, who’s living in Paris and painted across Europe, in such cities like Helsinki, Riga, London, Berlin, Bucarest, Sarajevo or from Milano to Siracusa…across Russia, Mongolia, China and till Tokyo!
“I didn’t hang out with Boris Vian, in the post-war St Germain-Des-Prés, or Fellini and his Dolce Vita in the 50′s. I didn’t even bump into Kerouac or Dennis Hopper, or beatniks, or even hippies, whilst going across the U.S.A. I didn’t know the Beatles, the swinging London, Malcolm McLaren, Kings Road’s Punks or even the Mods in Brighton, starring at the sea. No more than Maupassant, St Exupéry, Dumas, Dali or Andy Warhol and all his Factory. Didn’t meet Brecht, in the train from Berlin to Paris and in the Trans Europe Express, no Iggy Pop, no David Bowie.
I grew up in the two-tone eighties, Tito’s funeral and Kurt Cobain’ suicide, the movie Star Wars, the end of the cold war and the beginning of a new one, in Yugoslavia. I danced to Madness, Joy Division and Public Enemy.
I cried when they tore down The Wall, and laughed seeing those kids writing on the walls. I live in the year 2000, end of time. I’m involved into this extraordinary adventure, both feet implanted in this era, proudly tagging my name on the Pantheon of this new wave called GRAFFITI!”
THE BALL OF THE DOOMED
“There are three possible attitudes in this absurd life.
First of all that of the masses “hoï polloï” that simply refuse to see that life is a joke. Those ones don’t laugh of it but work, and accumulate, chew, excrete, fornicate and reproduce, age and die like cattle harnessed to a plough, stupid as they lived. They’re the great majority. Then, there are those, which know that the life is a joke and who have enough courage to laugh about it… Finally, there are those who know that life is a joke and who suffer from it!” – Jonathan Littel – Les BienveillantesAnd what if life was a joke? Prostitutes would carry out the ball, clowns would be police officers, undertakers the dandies of society and the rebels kids heroes of legends…
